🇬🇧 Where Are They Now? 🎶
UB40 – Britain’s Reggae Legends Still Going Strong
Few British reggae bands have had the global impact of UB40. Formed in Birmingham, England, in 1978, the group became one of the world’s biggest reggae acts, selling more than 70 million records and introducing reggae to millions of listeners across the globe.
With timeless hits like Red Red Wine, Kingston Town, (I Can’t Help) Falling in Love With You, One in Ten, Food for Thought, and Cherry Oh Baby, UB40 became household names throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
📍 Where Are They Now?
UB40 is still performing around the world, but today there are two versions of the band.
🎤 UB40 featuring Ali Campbell sees original lead singer Ali Campbell performing alongside fellow founding member Astro until his passing in 2021. The band continues to tour internationally, performing many of UB40’s biggest classic hits.
🎶 Meanwhile, the original UB40 continues with Robin Campbell, Jimmy Brown, Earl Falconer, Norman Hassan, and other long-time members, releasing new music and touring extensively across Europe and beyond.
Despite the split, both groups continue to celebrate the music that made UB40 one of Britain’s greatest reggae exports.

🌍 Their Legacy
UB40 helped bring reggae into the mainstream while staying true to the genre’s Jamaican roots. Their music has inspired generations of artists and remains a soundtrack for fans across the UK, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa and beyond.
More than four decades after they first formed, UB40’s songs are still filling festivals, arenas and dance floors around the world.
