🔥 SCRUB DOWN RIDDIM — THE STORY CONTINUES 🇯🇲🇬🇧

2016 → 2026 | 10 YEARS OF REGGAE VIBRATION

TEN YEARS AFTER THE ORIGINAL 2016 RELEASE, THE SCRUB DOWN RIDDIM IS BACK — WITH MORE MUSIC ADDED TO THE SVE MUSIC COLLECTION. 🎶

What started in 2016 as a smooth, soulful reggae and Lovers Rock project from Starr Vybz Entertainment has now been expanded for a new generation of reggae listeners.

The original Scrub Down Riddim featured nine tracks and showcased artists including Tinga Stewart, Miss Melody, Vincent Nap, Harmony, Sese Foster, Harmonie Deja, Kitty Corbin and Tony Douglas also JJBorn2Sing. The original digital album was released on 1 July 2016.

Now, in 2026, SVE Music is bringing additional recordings into the Scrub Down Riddim collection.

🎶 THE 2026 EXPANDED EDITION

The updated SVE Music release now includes the original nine recordings plus:

🔟 Grantie Asher — Black Skin
1️⃣1️⃣ Micheal Gordon — Every Ting Niice

The SVE Music catalogue currently lists 11 tracks on the expanded Scrub Down Riddim release.

🇬🇧 GRANTIE ASHER — “BLACK SKIN”

This is a particularly important addition.

“Black Skin” was originally released as a 2016 Starrvybz Entertainment recording, produced by Starr Vybz Entertainment, and became a recognised UK reggae anthem for Grantie Asher.

The song later received an important second chapter through Ariwa Sounds and Mad Professor, demonstrating the lasting life of a recording that began with Starr Vybz.

Bringing “Black Skin” into the expanded 2026 Scrub Down collection connects the original Starr Vybz era with the wider history of UK reggae and dub culture.

Grantie himself described “Black Skin” as his first song with Starr Vybz, explaining in a 2020 interview how the song came from an idea he had while driving and how he and Starrvybz connected creatively.

And its story didn’t end there.

The song went on to become a recognised UK reggae anthem, with Asher performing it at major UK reggae events. It was also highlighted at the 2018 Screen Nation Awards, where its performance was described as his anthem and received a strong response from the audience.

🎙️ MICHAEL GORDON — “EVERY TING NIICE”

Also joining the expanded collection is Michael Gordon — “Every Ting Niice.”

This adds another dimension to the Scrub Down story and gives the 2026 edition a fresh chapter while preserving the musical foundation established ten years earlier.
